Poem 026
Beneath the roots of ancient trees,
A whisper lingers with the breeze,
Where shadows gather, cool and still,
And time obeys its patient will.
A truth once spoken, then concealed,
Lies underneath what was revealed,
No searching eye has found its trace,
No hurried hand can breach its place.
The years may pass like falling rain,
Yet silence keeps what must remain,
Until the dark gives up its hold,
And lets the hidden turn to gold.
